Collections Coordinator

FULL TIME POSTION (40 hrs/week)

Summary:

Responsible for analyzing accounts aging and coordinating collection efforts through mail, phone and direct contact.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certification required
  • Bilingual Person preferred with experience in Customer Service, Collections or Accounts Receivable.
  • Pro-active approach to improving receipt of payments and reducing delinquency rates
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls and varying collection cycles
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department

Qualifications:

  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Perform collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented collections department.
  • Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies for verifying and updating account statuses
  • Enlist the efforts of operations and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers.
  • Provide excellent & considerate customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Daily and weekly reporting to direct supervisor.

Customer Service Representative

FULL TIME POSTION (40 hrs/week)

Summary:

Responsible for receiving incoming customer calls and finding solutions to service questions/issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certification required
  • The ability to respectfully and effectively provide customer service support in a high volume customer service environment.
  • Effective listening and comprehension skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain customer service focused during situations in which customers may be notably frustrated.
  • Ability to commit to a regular work schedule with little absenteeism, must be able to work with defined, rigid schedules in which timed lunches and breaks are predefined.
  • Knowledge of the waste management industry is preferred but not required.
  • Bi-lingual skills are desirable but not a requirement.

Dispatcher

FULL TIME POSTION (40 hrs/week)

Summary:

Responsible for communicating back and forth with and directing drivers to assist with problem resolution while on route for residential, commercial and roll-off lines of business.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and interactive environment while taking initiative to solve issues as they arise
  • Good communication and customer service skills a must
  • Ability to utilize industry specific software applications
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally via e-mail, telephone, and 2 way devices
  • Knowledge of the waste management industry is preferred

Qualifications:

  • Dispatches drivers to calls as they are received, coordinating customer needs, driver locations and loads, and scheduling factors to balance cost and speed of response
  • Assigns routes and service tickets to appropriate Drivers throughout the day and for the next day; close service tickets each day
  • Handles incoming calls and e-mails from customer service and sales department; manages requests for pick-up or container delivery and ensuring same-day service
  • Initiates outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolving pick-up and other issues
  • Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues
  • Ensures same-day service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field
  • Records and documents information from route logs for data entry into computer software

Driver

Mid Valley Disposal has immediate openings for refuse route drivers at our Kerman yard. The position will be responsible for driving a garbage truck on specified routes to mechanically and manually collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites. Daily work will involve heavy industrial lifting, lifting waist high, gripping with hands, moving at a brisk consistent pace, and occasional bending. This position will also be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously serving customers.

Mechanic

FULL TIME POSTION (40+ hrs/week)

Summary:

Primary responsibilities include maintenance and repair of refuse trucks and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant should be self-motivated, safety oriented and be able to work in a deadline driven environment

Shift Supervisor

Mid Valley Recycling LLC’s Elm MRF and Transfer Station 

FULL TIME POSTION (40+ hrs/week)

Summary:

The Loader Operator will operate a wheel loader to feed production machines.  The operator is responsible for maneuvering and navigating in a safe manner in a space that other vehicles enter frequently. 

Essential Duties:

  • Load and move materials while coordinating machine actions with other yard activities
  • Accurately load and feed material into machinery or containers
  • Accept direction from supervisors
  • Interact with vehicles in shared space in a patient, professional, safe manner
  • Comply with OSHA and company safety policy and procedures
  • Strictly adheres to all Mid Valley Disposal’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
  • Accept other duties as necessary for plant operation

Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience operating loaders and mature equipment handling skills

  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check

Truck Scale Operator

General Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The Truck Scale Operator (TSO) is responsible for weighing loads on multiple in-bound and out-bound scales, directing customers to the appropriate areas for unloading, receiving payment for in-bound material, and completing documents for out-bound materials.  These actions will be performed while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that all efforts are compliant with the company’s financial and reporting policies.

 Essential Functions:

  • Weigh in-bound trucks, including the gathering of origin data and material type, entering the data into the computer program, and answering questions regarding charges, providing weight tickets and collecting payments where necessary.
  • Weigh out-bound trucks including the verification of load authorizations, completion of BOLs, weight tickets, etc, photographing the materials as needed, and ensuring weight compliance.
  • Assist current and potential customers with questions regarding the pricing of materials and types of material accepted, direct drivers to appropriate areas for loading and unloading, and, in general, provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete internal reports and customer reports.
  • Account for cash and batch daily revenue.
  • Perform all the above duties while complying with the company health, safety, and environmental policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Communicate to supervisor problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions

 Work Environment:

  • The TSO desk is currently located in the main office of the plant in an air conditioned office. 
  • The office is a professional environment, but the TSO interacts with truck drivers and the public who are not all professional in their demeanor.  
  • The TSO will service literally hundreds of customers each day in an environment that requires multi-tasking. 
  • The TSO reports to the Dispatcher, Facilities & Operations Supervisor, or Operations Manager. 
  • This position does not encompass any supervisory responsibilities. 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED Certification preferred.
  • Bilingual ability to speak Spanish and English required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a scale operator required.
  • Experience in scrap/waste industry or transportation industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with customers and other employees required.
  • Mathematical and problem solving skills required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task essential.
  • Typing skills required.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Availability to work extra hours including, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:

  • Sit for long periods at desk
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally;
  • Crouch or bend at the knees occasionally
  • Stoop or bend at the waist occasionally
  • Reach at arm’s length or overhead occasionally;

Maintenance Supervisor

General Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The Supervisor will maintain the site and all the fixed and rolling equipment at the site. A proactive maintenance strategy will be used to maximize the production while repairing broken equipment and performing period maintenance duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise maintenance staff working all shifts, including hiring, disciplining and scheduling, training, inspiring and generally providing leadership and clear communication.
  • Implement a proactive maintenance program that maximizes production time and manages repairs outside of operation hours.
  • Provide timely repairs to inoperable equipment.
  • Perform periodic maintenance tasks as recommended by Manufacturers.
  • Inventory replacement parts and supplies to maximize production while controlling costs.
  • Comply with OSHA and company safety policy and procedures.
  • Sustain a clean and organized shop and maintenance area at all times.
  • Maintain whole physical plant, including operations equipment, rolling stock, buildings, offices, scales, and yard.
  • Pick up parts as needed.
  • Update logs, compliance records, and other documents to track and report on work
  • Oversee third party vendors working onsite.
  • Participate in site management team.
  • Apply industry best practices for purchasing equipment and supplies.
  • Accept other duties as necessary for plant operation.

Goals:

  • Maximum of 10%  overtime each week on a department basis
  • Maximum of 4%  downtime on production lines during shifts
  • Zero accidents

Equipment to Be Maintained:

  • Electrical motors 
  • Conveyors:  slide, chain driven, walking-floor, 
  • Sorting/sizing machinery 
  • Two-ram hydraulic balers
  • Rolling Stock:  Articulating loaders, forklifts, and excavators

Work Schedule: 

The standard workweek is 50 hours, but plant problems and projects may require more hours, including hours on the weekends

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience 
  • 5 years applicable maintenance experience 
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Able to carry up to 50 pounds for intermediate distances.
  • Able to work while bending or kneeling or standing continuously for long periods.
  • Able to climb ladder or steps and work in an elevated position.
  • Able to work outside 100% of the day while exposed to the weather.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Able to hear and see well.
